A look back at Zero Posters × Misk Foundation, our poster design masterclass in Riyadh, 2021.
Through Zero Posters, Alaa Tameem and Tariq Yosef explored Arabic typography, grid systems and experimental composition. This masterclass brought that approach into a learning environment, with Alaa leading the sessions.
Across five days, the workshop combined short lectures, experimentation, group discussions and critiques, exploring how typography, grids and layout shape visual communication.
The brief challenged participants to develop three posters, working with Arabic typography and lettering, 3D perspective and isometric design.
The aim was to develop a way of seeing, experimenting and making design decisions that could carry into work beyond posters.
